Shaving soap Kerkini Eve

A few words…

I bought the soap Kerkini Eve after communicating with George and agreeing to send me some samples of the soaps he produces. This and the Original Kerkini were the soaps I bought after my tests. George was kind enough to send me the samples for free.

I feel truly privileged to be a member of a vibrant and healthy community, made up of members like George, who produces and creates unique items and products of their own. Kerkini Eve is one of them!

But let’s move on to the review without further delays.
And the first one for me is his trump…

Scent

I will first tell to you what the two females of the family have told me about the smell …
Bubble gum! both of them said simultaneously with a smile. Of course this was at the first opening of the soap. I in the other hand, don’t smell bubble gum! Nope!
Kerkini Eve’s fragrance is noble, warm and sweet…
In short, it is great to my taste!

Ingredients of Kerkini Eve

  • Stearic Acid
  • Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil)
  • Aqua (water)
  • Potassium Hydroxide
  • Buffalo Milk
  • Glycerin
  • Fragrance

Properties

All properties of the soap are at least satisfactory (for the difficult ones). Kerkini Eve performs very well at every aspects of it.

Lathering

Very good (albeit my difficulties at the beginning). I hate synthetic hair so I usually use badger (pure and silvertip). So with a silvertip, the soap always makes a nice, viscous lather that is plenty enough for at least 3 passes.

Protection

Excellent, the lather is protective and slippery, making the razor almost imperceptible to its passes, helping it to decimate the beards with ease.

Also, its post shave feel, feels pretty damn good. Making the skin silky soft, smooth and hydrated.

Aroma

The aroma of the soap is very interesting and pleasant (the least). You get the impression of a good masculine cologne. I personally like it very much and not just me as I said earlier. Unfortunately it doesn’t last much on me. I wish it would be able to smell it more. Well, at least I have the puck so I get a few sniffs occasionally when I pass by my den!

Very worthwhile attempt!

One of the really few attempts by us (Greeks) to create shaving soaps, that have gone beyond Greek borders. Unfortunately, Greek men still do not know what (traditional) wet shaving really means or they are very uninformed!

I hope soon others will follow his footsteps!

Finally, I would like to add that the version I have is without tallow. :'(
I read that the tallowed version is way better!
